Our Story
Who doesn’t remember their first reading of The Lord of the Rings? That first inkling that the world was somehow more real, more exciting, more terrible, and more wonderful than we had realized. And who didn’t immediately go in search of similar stories, only to grow disheartened by the task of wading through muck to find a few rare gems?
The gems are out there. We know, because we’ve read them. And as the world grows darker, the hunger for good stories grows also — we’ve never needed them as much as we do now.
It’s time to help readers find the next generation of the Inklings.
A Note on Our Name
In the Chronicles of Narnia, C.S. Lewis describes a mystical forest containing portals to other worlds. This forest is the wood between the worlds.
Portals to worlds of stories is what we, very brazenly, hope to be for readers of fantastical literature. We invite you to escape into a new world and experience that curious, joyful sensation of entering the strange and finding that you have come home.
